I was excited like every other person was ,I couldn’t wait
to meet new friends and know this big city of Mombasa. My parents finally left
for home and there I was, life had to start. I could see student in very funny
attires, others almost naked, wow! Is this the freedom I had heard was in
University?
The notion that in Mombasa people walk half naked due to hot climate, I was now getting a bit
scared. No one to wake me up to attend classes anymore unlike high school. This
means I had a choice to make when it comes to class attendance. As soon as
classes began I realized things were going to be different.
It is survival for the fastest rather than the famous say 'survival for the fittest.' Boys running after me and that angered me. An environment with No teacher to restrict you from anything you want to do. Life was wonderful, and risky at the same time.

On weekends my room mates would go for parties and I’m left alone, that is where the temptation of joining companies for peer pressure comes in, but having gone for a short design course after my form four, I decided to find a side hustle and I got a sewing machine and started working with it.
Through this I got hooked up to some design agencies until I started working with great
designers and models around Mombasa. This made me busy at the times I am not in class and it finally became part of me. Most people came to know of my work and have since trusted me to be their designer and tailor.
